Dr Hin Fan (Rex) Chan is a male specialist urologist who has been practicing in both the public and private health systems in ACT since 2010.
After graduating with his medical degree from the University of Sydney, Dr Chan went on to complete his Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (Urology) examination. He then took up a fellow position in the Cardiff University Hospital Urology Department in UK, particularly focusing on bringing back with him the experience in the best practice for the often-challenging open surgical management of pelvic urological malignancy.
His scope of practice includes general adult urology with a special interest in the surgical management of pelvic urological malignancy which includes:
- High PSA
- Prostate Cancer Management and Prostatectomy
- Bladder Cancer Management
- Kidney Stone
- UTI (Urinary Tract Infection)
- Haematuria (Blood in urine)
- Male Reproductive Organ related issues such as Testicular Cancer, ED, Skin issue
- Vasectomy
Dr Chan is an active contributing member of the Uro-Oncology Multi-disciplinary Team at the Canberra Hospital which holds weekly meetings to facilitate the management of challenging urological cancer cases.
He has private operating lists at Calvary John James Hospital and Barton Private Hospital. His public operating lists are at North Canberra Hospital and The Canberra Hospital.
New patients will be normally booked within 4 weeks, however, Dr Chan can normally accommodate very urgent patients. Please do not hesitate to call the clinic and request to speak with Dr Chan’s receptionist or practice manager.
