Dr Robert Boland-Freitas completed training in Neurology at the Blacktown, Westmead, Calvary and Canberra Hospitals. He subsequently completed subspecialty training in Clinical Neurophysiology at Royal North Shore Hospital.
He has an appointment as a Staff Specialist Neurologist and is the Director of the Neurophysiology Department at Blacktown Hospital, Sydney, NSW. He has a particular interest in neuromuscular disorders, including the muscular dystrophies. Dr Boland-Freitas is an experienced provider of Botulinum toxin therapies for neurological disorders, including migraine, dystonia and hyperhidrosis. He has completed PhD studies under the supervision of A/Prof. Ng (University of Sydney) researching muscle diseases using novel neurophysiological methods, with a focus on the myotonic dystrophy. For this work, he was nominated for the Peter Bancroft Prize.
Dr Boland-Freitas is pleased to offer nerve conduction studies/Electromyography (EMG). His special interest is in Botox treatment for neurological conditions.
