Dr Robert Boland-Freitas is a Sydney based neurologist who has monthly clinic at Barton Specialist Clinic. He completed training in Neurology at the Blacktown, Westmead, Calvary and Canberra Hospitals. He subsequently completed subspecialty training in Clinical Neurophysiology at Royal North Shore Hospital.
He is the Director of the Neurophysiology Department at Blacktown Hospital, Sydney, NSW. He has a particular interest in neuromuscular disorders, including the muscular dystrophies. Dr Boland-Freitas is an experienced provider of Botulinum toxin therapies for neurological disorders, including migraine, dystonia and hyperhidrosis. He has completed PhD studies under the supervision of A/Prof. Ng (University of Sydney) researching muscle diseases using novel neurophysiological methods, with a focus on the myotonic dystrophy. For this work, he was nominated for the Peter Bancroft Prize.
His special interest is in Botox treatment for neurological conditions and Nerve Conduction Studies/Electromyography (EMG).
